Questions of Dimensionality

“Overall, as the amount of available information increases, the unifying context used to organize this information becomes simpler and often less rational. This insight represents perhaps our chief domestic tactical advantage, freeing up considerable resources that rival powers devote to the simple, top-level control of electronic communication.” (William Sims Bainbridge)

Alien breeding programmes and spacecraft that use magnetic forces have long been part and parcel of UFO folklore. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of Higdon’s story is an apparently minor detail that is rarely included in summaries of the case. All the while he was with the aliens, Higdon recalled, he only ever saw them from the front. “I was looking straight into their faces… [I] never looked at the side or back. There was just a direct front view – that’s all I ever got”.

Subject: The Natural Octave of Spatiality and Temporality

Symbol Evocation: The Geometric Force of the Tension between Fate and Free Will

Comments: The rationalized dimensionality above and below the Euclidean third dimension (or the so-called “consensus” reality) was the work of the geometer and astronomer Carl Fredrich Gauss (1777-1855), who conceived of a higher-dimensional analytic geometry, and the mathematician-physicist Georg Friedrich Bernhard Riemann (1826-1866), who as a student was influenced by Gauss. Riemann advanced the thought by developing an N-dimensional manifold with a metric (a rule for assigning lengths to paths), which meant you could now consider force or energy as a consequence of geometry, thus making the laws of nature seem simpler when viewed from the context of higher dimensional space.

From the mid-Nineteenth Century until now, dimensionality has gradually replaced the traditional concept of Fate– the three goddesses who determine the course of human life: Cloth (the spinner- who spins the thread of life), Lachesis (the disposer of lots-who determines the length of life) and Atropos (the inflexible- who cuts off the thread of life).

“I hear very strange sounds of farmers – barnyard animals. They’re very, very active, making a lot of noise.

“Straight ahead. There it is again. Straight ahead. What is it? A strange small red light. ”

“It looks maybe half a mile further ahead. Go back to the edge of the clearing, see if we can get a look at it… the animals have gone quiet now… It is deathly calm.”

He adds in hushed tones: “There is no doubt about it – it is a strange flashing red light ahead.

“I saw a yellow tinge in it too. Weird. It’s coming this way. It’s definitely coming this way.

“There is no doubt about it. This is weird.”

It should be borne in mind that humans are notoriously bad at accurately recalling what they have seen. A TV audience was shown a faked picture of a fairly ‘classic’ flying saucer for 15 seconds, and then asked to draw what they had seen. The results were extraordinary: 50 totally different and almost entirely inaccurate images came back. One image was a circle with 4 huge wings radiating out from it. Since UFOs are widely believed to be alien spaceships, a blurred dark area might easily be interpreted as a porthole, and dark shading underneath might be interpreted as landing gear. Large-scale meteors or fireballs are sometimes reported as having ‘windows’.

Are UFOs physically real? In theory, they could be any of the following: 1) genuine physical objects; 2) temporarily materialized ethereal objects; 3) ethereal objects perceived clairvoyantly; 4) projected external images or holograms; 5) illusions existing only in witnesses’ minds, either (a) self-generated or (b) induced by other entities. Whether UFOs show up on radar or not does not necessarily prove whether they are physically solid, since physical objects can be made invisible to radar. Conversely, not everything that shows up on radar is physically visible. Films of UFOs do not prove that they are three-dimensional objects possessing physical density unless they are also seen to interact physically with their environment, such as by leaving material landing traces. (David Pratt)

By using an ordinary camera loaded with infrared film, Trevor Constable, a well-known aviation historian, has photographed plasmatic lifeforms in the atmosphere which inhabit the infrared part of the spectrum and are normally imperceptible. Their existence has been independently verified by researchers in Europe and the United States. Most are spherical, discoidal, or cigar-shaped, others look like fish or serpents, and many resemble giant pulsating unicellular organisms or amoebas.

The UFO phenomenon is consistent with a technology centered on craft using a very revolutionary propulsion system, which possesses physical, anti-physical, psychic, social/psychology, physiological and cultural dimensions (see, reference 9 for further detail). The phenomenon is the product of a technology in the sense that it is a real, physical, material object.

The differences between our respective cultures, biologies, sensory modalities, histories, dimensional existence, physical evolution, models of nature and science, etc. are directly responsible for our total lack of understanding of the UFO phenomenon and what their message is. We cannot see what UFOs believe to be (iconical) similarities in the message that is intended for us.

Kuiper and Freitas suggest that ETI probes visiting Earth would find it necessary to hide themselves from our detection mechanisms until they have assessed our technological level or potential threat and hazards. They would employ an adaptive multi-level risk program to avoid danger. Low observable stealth such as simple camouflage through mimicry, which works well in nature, may be the technique of choice used by visiting ETI-probes.

The current ETI Hypothesis for UFOs is not strange enough to explain the facts of the phenomenon. However, there is no experiment that can distinguish between phenomena manifested by visiting interstellar (arbitrarily advanced) ETI and UFOs. (Eric Davis)
